Drafting

The Drafting program at GCTC is designed to teach students how to use the computer systems of Computer Aided Drafting software as a tool to create geometric shapes, parts, and drawings. They will learn basic CAD drawing and editing commands and progress to using advanced commands that enhance productivity and accuracy. Printers and plotters are utilized to create finished drawings to industry standards.
In the program, students will learn a variety of CAD software including: Auto CAD, Inventor, 3D Studio Max, Revit, as well as Microsoft software.
Drafting work has many specialties including aeronatuical drafters, architectural drafters, civil drafters, mechanical drafters, process piping, and pipeline drafters. There are many different opportunities available in the career field.
