Mythic Creatures borrows specimens and artifacts from the fossil, art and anthropological collections of the AMNH and other museums, and examines how such objects might have, through imagination, misidentification, speculation or outright deception, given birth to fantastical creatures. Is the Lochness Monster a fake? Are fairies just fairytales? Is Big Foot really just a hoax? Vampires and other mystical creatures are they really fake?

There are so many different types of mythical creatures that was said to have roamed our beautiful earth at one time, but were these all just made up stories or did something like these things really exist? They did and they still do today maybe. But are they magical and powerful? No they are not, they are just animals that were born with a deformity and it has happened for centuries and still does in all types of creatures.
