The Mechanical Trades program at Green Country Technology Center is a 2-year program and is open to High School Students and Adults.
Power Products Technician – Students in this major will learn how to diagnose, repair and perform routine maintenance on small engines. Students will learn the major systems of small engines and multiple cylinder engine designs. They will learn troubleshooting techniques and how to identify causes of engine failures. In addition, students will also learn shop and tool safety. GMAW Structural Welder – This major prepares students to do quality structural welding on steel in structural fabrication and manufacturing shops. Instruction includes welding theory, fabrication, layout, print reading, welding symbols, math and welding codes with an emphasis in Gas Metal Arc Welding (MIG) techniques. GMAW welders specialize in performing MIG welds in accordance with welding procedure specifications.<
