
The White House is home to the President of the United States. The official address is 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.
Construction as started in 1792 and finished in 1800. During the War of 1812, the buliding was set on fire by the British.
The North and South Porticos were constructed in 1824. In 1901, President Roosevelt moved nearly all work offices to the newly
constructed West Wing. The first Oval Office was created under President Taft.
